The RN-AA0B02R is the JDM cut of Orient’s SK Revival, and it earns its place on the strength of one detail the wider release skips: a black dial that shifts to a smoky purple gradient as light moves across it. The design itself is a faithful nod to the 1970s Orient “Super King Diver” — the multifaceted case, the busy retro dial, the twin-crown look — reissued for people who missed it the first time.
On the wrist it’s unmistakably vintage in feel. The stainless steel case runs 41.7mm across and a slim 12.6mm thick, with a faceted mineral crystal that catches light the way old acrylic used to, and an integrated steel bracelet that keeps the whole thing period-correct. It’s a watch that reads far more expensive than it is.
Inside is Orient’s own F6922 automatic — genuinely in-house, self-winding with the option to hand-wind and a hacking seconds hand for setting to the second. You get a day-date at three and around 40 hours of reserve. At 50m water resistance this is an everyday companion and a splash-proof one, not a dive watch despite the heritage name.
